TOWARD THE SILENCE

Toward the Silence is a multimedia performance offering an environment in which the listener can be transported from sound to silence while exploring aural and visual “detours” along the way. Beginning with improvised passages on the flute, the music evolves from and deconstructs into fundamental acoustic particles. The voice merges gradually with these fragments of sound, pointing the way to new sonic as well as visual surroundings. Sustained flute tones emerge, blending seamlessly with an electronic soundscape… images become transparent… fragmented… sounds fade…. silence….
